Problem: The number of seniors in this country who need care is growing as the Baby Boomer generation reaches retirement. Too many families struggle to afford needed care for their loved ones, too many home care and nursing home workers live in poverty, and high turnover leads to gaps in care.
We Believe: As the demand for long-term care grows, our country needs to support high quality long term care by investing in staffing, training and better wages for the dedicated caregivers who take care of older Americans and people with disabilities.
Our Plan: We need to find new sources of funding for long-term care, invest in recruitment, training and retention of healthcare workers, and establish stronger quality care standards.
