SOCIAL & RACIAL JUSTICE

Problem: The ideals expressed by our nation’s founders have yet to be universally applied. For example, even though the United States makes up about 5 percent of the world’s population, it has  21 percent of the world’s prisoners, with Black Americans incarcerated at more than 5 times the rate of whites.

We Believe: Every individual in America has the right to be treated fairly and equally. We reject discrimination in all forms and strive to ensure our nation finally lives up to its founding ideals.

Our Plan: We need to expand opportunities for historically marginalized communities and pursue policies that address mass incarceration and environmental injustice. In addition, we must compensate Black Americans for suffering under slavery.
